Client Success Stories

These are just a few of the success stories that have arisen out of horses we’ve sold ~ most in the past year.  Some have been sold to our own students, and some we have found for clients of other trainers.  Some horses we’ve found in this country and others we have found in England.  Their prices ranged as broad as their experience and age levels did but what was important to us was that they all have seemed to find their fit with the perfect person.

If you are looking for that special horse, that one perfect partner for you, please contact us to help you make that happen.  We can’t say that 100% of the time matches come out perfect with horses, but certainly our track record would be top of the line in our business and pretty much speaks for itself.  We also stand behind our work and will help the clients build their new relationship with their horse if they want, or re-sell it in the future if they need to.

‘Good Knight’ ~ this was a young horse bred by past jumper employers of Lesley.  We thought he showed a great deal of talent and thus sold him SIGHT UNSEEN to David Acord in California.  Within four and a half years David went on to place second at a two star with him and place 8th in an advanced.  He then sold the gelding to four star rider Jolie Sexton (who funny enough, bought her four star horse off Leslie as well…)who has since placed in an advanced with him as well.

‘Bratton Little John’ ~ having had success with ‘Good Knight’, David came back to us again two months ago to have us buy another horse for him.  Leslie went to England and bought him a lovely, fancy young chestnut.  David never got to try the horse but clearly it was a good match as they have won their first event in America just two months after importing him!

‘Pembridge Swing Time’ ~ this is a beautiful, classy mare we imported for one of our young rider students Missy Miller just under two years ago.  Within this past year Missy has had numerous top placings with the mare, jumped clear around a two star (got eliminated however for missing a last fence), and while Missy was off at Young Riders with her older horse, the mare with Leslie won a two star and won another intermediate horse trial.

‘Fire and Ice’ ~ perhaps one of our greatest success stories, Kelly Kays-Everett is a full time vet with her own practice who just wanted the perfect amateur horse for her to have fun and success with.  We found this stunning mare in England for her and it was a match made in heaven.  Out of the last twelve consecutive events this pair did together, they placed at EVERY one and had eight in the top three placings!  They were amateur training champions for their area.

‘Asia’ ~ this is a lovely mare that one of our working students took up to the two star level and then we sold to a young girl to learn the ropes on.  In her past four outings the mare has been second twice and fourth once.  I’m fairly sure she doesn’t have any cross country penalties at all with her new young jockey!

‘Java’ ~ just this year we sold Lesley’s intermediate horse to a Canadian young rider who had never had a very honest, game cross country horse before and needed safe confident miles at the prelim and intermediate levels.  Since owning him, Java has not had a single cross country fault with the girl and almost no stadium rails.  She has placed at just about every Canadian event she entered along with placing at Richland Park.  Java is certainly giving her a ton of confidence over the jumps that she will take with her for years to come.

‘Cooper’ ~ we had a part-time student that was very much a ‘backyard’ rider for most of her life but really wanted to try her hand at eventing.  She was a fabulous girl with a great heart and a wonderful personality but not much cash or experience!  We found her a wonderful eight year old thoroughbred that had never done eventing himself but showed us that he had the temperament and heart to try anything with an owner that would look after him and love him.  They have since completed their first handful of novice events together and have had a blast doing it.  You won’t ever see this pair at the Olympics but finding that special lower level horse that will probably be a horse, and a friend, of a lifetime for someone is every bit as important and special.

‘Call on Me’ ~ we first found this handsome, grey horse in England for a student of ours Ashley Dalton who had a wonderful time on him.  When Ashley left to get married and move away we sold him to a young rider Callie Judy who in just less than two years ~ won a CIC** at Maui Jim, placed in numerous intermediates, placed in her first ever advanced horse trial and took her to her first CCI ***’s.  A very special horse who will no doubt be very hard to replace.
