Smart Young TB Gelding
'Bombadil' is a very handsome, 7 year old, 16.1hh, bay thoroughbred that has a very solid novice record. He started off life as a hunter and then transitioned to eventing with a young girl last year. He has three correct paces and is easy to ride on the flat with a very natural headset for the dressage. He scores well in the dressage as of late; even leading after dressage once on a 28 in a very large field!
He has placed 7th, 6th, and 5th in his last three events. The one he placed 7th he led from the dressage but his Rider forgot her watch and thus had speeding faults cross country. I don't believe he has had more than one rail total in those three events. He is a careful jumper in the show jumping with great leadchanges and throws a great shape over the jumps. Due to his background being in the hunters, the cross country has been what he has had to learn anew and he is taking very well to that it seems.
He is ready to go up to training now and will be competiting at the horse park in 10 days time in their unaffiliated three phase event at the training level. He will then as well do the unafffiliated training at Rocking Horse in June.
'Chance' is a wonderful horse in the barn and is supurb to hack out alone or in company. He will hack through fields, woods, and roads on the buckle. He is who i will use to accompany any of our young horses on the hacks out. Occasionally at the shows while jumping he will have a momentary 'squirt' if he hits a rail or hears a loud noise but aside from that this is one pretty easy going horse.
This is a very smart looking young horse who has been produced almost entirely by a petite junior rider. We would think he should make up into a very competitive one star horse within a year or so. His show jumping and dressage ability are not far off the prelim mark now, he just has to catch up in his cross country experience as he only started that a year ago.
Update: Chance just did his first training level event at the unaffilliated event at the Ocala Horse Park and scored at 32 in the dressage, went double clear xc, and just had one rail show jumping!!

Stunning Top Class 5 Year Old
'Accidental Son' is a 16hh (probably will mature to 16.1) grey gelding out of a tb mare by a dressage oldenburg stallion whom we just recently got in. He is built like a tb but with bigger feet.. if you saw him you would think he was all tb or at least 7/8ths.
He is a TOP class mover. You will for sure have one of the best moving horses at the event if not THE best. He was started as a dressage horse as that was where he was bred, but would excell as an event horse. We have just started him jumping and he is proving to be very adapt at it and brave. He has a massive gallop stride and really covers the ground in all gaits.
He is a saint in the barn and in turn out and seems a very kind and generous soul. He does wear a crib strap but DOES NOT touch a thing if wearing said strap. He has a fresh set of xrays and is blemish free.
This is a top class horse, very athletic, but still green as only just broke last year. He would have too much athleticism for a beginner or novice rider and needs to go to someone with high asperations to go up the levels or someone that wants to be sat on the winning dressage horse to always win the lower levels. He is a true show stopper.
He will be available now for a very limited time, and then if not sold will be taken off the market until some more miles are put on him at which point we could greatly increase his price.
Youtube video of his flat work available if you search 'accidental son' in youtube.
12 Year Old Seasoned Intermediate Horse
'Franklin' is a coming twelve year old, 16.2/16.3 hh, chestnut thoroughbred who is just as kind as you could want. He is like a labrador in the stable and posesses a wonderful temperment both in and out of the tack.
He has placed in over 12 open intermediates, gone around a few advanced events with clear cross country rounds and won a CCI Two Star in 2009. Clearly he would make a magnificent prelim and intermediate packer or Young Riders mount. He jumps like an old equitation horse and carries a very good, almost hunter like, rythm to his fences. He is tidy with his legs and safe cross country. He is the kinda horse you could feel very safe letting your daughter or your wife go out cross country with for their first time at a level.
He has started off the 2011 season with a 3rd and 4th placing at the prelim levels.
He as well has a very good trot for a thoroughbred combined with a very steady canter and correct head carriage and thus has the ability to score quite well in the dressage ring.
Owner/Rider has come to the end of his line with this horse so he wishes for it to go on to a good home so he can teach someone else the ropes. Owner is motivated to sell to the right home. Horses like this are very hard to come by in this country that have such miles and yet are still young enough to go for a few more good years.
Horse does have a chip in one front ankle that he has had for who knows how long, and it has never caused a problem or ever been injected... but price reflect the chip.
Priced at $55,000 or nearest offer.

Handsome Grey Gelding for Sale
'Asterion' is a coming 8 year old, 16.1hh, handsome grey gelding by Windfall. He was American Young Event Horse Champion as a five year old and has been brought along by an amateur girl since he was four.
He is vice and injury free and a lovely type to have in the barn. A real 'people' horse and yet a fancy mover and tidy jumper. He has a very good USEA record as he has placed numerous times at the training level with his young rider. He competed at a handful of prelims now with decent results.

We have had him for two months and he hasn't shown us a single ugly moment. Leslie took him to a training event two weeks after he came in and he placed 2nd easily. He behaved very well at the show, tied to the trailer and never got upset/tense/nervous. He should win easily at the novice and training levels with a competent amateur and should be capable of the young rider levels with a decent rider that can continue his education.
I have posted very brief videos of him on youtube which can be found if you search: leslielaweventing and then look for the videos of 'Ian'. There is a short trot video, one of canter, and one of him jumping a few fences.
He is a very charming, handsome horse with a floaty trot and a good jump. These photos do not do him justice. I have no doubt that one of the first to see him will buy.

Beautiful and Young with Lots of Good Miles.
'Amarna' is a coming 8 year old, stylish chestnut mare by the Trakehner stallion 'Amethyst' who was himself a winner at the two star level. She stands approx 16.1hh and is a very beautiful, event type. She is still owned by her breeders who have found themselves over-horsed and thus have made the sad decision to sell her to make room for the up and coming babies. She won the American Young Event Horse Championships in 2008.
We know this horse very well as she-Lesley rode her up until she became pregnant and then he-Leslie took over the ride. 'Amy' does not show ANY of those negative 'mare' qualities that you hear about. She behaves like a gelding in the barn and has never shown any uglyness either in the barn or under tack.
If it is great miles that you want, this is the horse for you! Both with professionals and amateurs this girl has a fantastic USEA record. At only seven years of age she has six, top five prelim placings and ten, top four training placings ~ including many wins at both levels.
2011 Current Results:
- 1st Rocking Horse Prelim (February 2011)
- 1st Rocking Horse Prelim (Jan 2011)
- 5th Ocala Horse Park Prelim (Jan 2011)
Videos from a recent prelim win:
She is point and shoot cross country, is tight with her legs and a pretty mover. She would be a very good confidence builder for someone who wants miles cross country and should be a very competitive one star horse right now.
She has no vices or lameness issues and had a foal as a three year old so we know she can be bred! She is a very sweet horse who deserves a great home!
Price: $50,000.00
Brewster
'Brew' is an adorable 3 year old who was bred to event at the highest levels. His mother was a successful event horse at the upper levels and his father is by the well known Blauer Vogel a stallion that competed to the three star level in Europe. He is a fab floaty mover and uses all his parts correctly over a jump. He as well has a brilliant mind and has taken to hacking and some small cross country jumps well.
He has been in training with us now for a few weeks and is better schooled on the flat than most four year olds (and probably most five year olds!). He jumps all our scary show jumps and fillers without batting an eyelash and walks easily into our water jump. He is a lovely horse for someone who cannot afford an older horse of such quality.
These photos are from 6 months ago... will update photos soon.
CONGRATULATIONS TO SUE ON HER PURCHASE OF BREW!
Beltane
'Beltane' is an 8 year old tb/warmblood cross who stands approx 16.1-16.2hh. He is very handsome and has the personality of a black lab. He is owned by one of our working students who has had him since he was weaned and done all the work herself! He is a lovely mover and very easy to ride on the flat. He is a cute jumper and very very honnest. He can be missed and will never hold a grudge. He goes in a snaffle all phases and is a real pet in the barn. He will hack down the road on the buckle and has the same attitude when he goes to the shows. He has been evented up to the prelim level with very good winning training results and a few prelim ribbons. He is fancy enough to be a very competitive young rider's one star horse with the scope to go intermediate in the future.
We had him sold in February for $40,000 but discovered that he had two chips in a hind ankle (of course owner had never had him vetted as she bought him as a weanling and he had never been lame). We have since had the chips surgically removed and he is good to go. Vets stated that the procedure went perfect and it should never cause him any problems in the future. Due to his missing the last season owner is willing to sell now at $30,000 once she takes him prelim again this summer price will go back up.
He is a very sweet horse and one we know very well and would trust to look after a kid or novice adult am.
Price: $30,000.00
Zoe
'Zoe' is a very striking ten year old, 16.2hh, blood bay Dutch mare with lots of chrome and tons of quality. She is light on her feet with a very uphill canter an elegant trot; three very good paces. She is fairly straight forward on the flat and has no 'issues'. She has a very good jump and appears to have the scope to jump advanced. She is the kind of horse that will back herself off the fence and rock back thus making the jumps very easy to find. She is sweet on the ground and lovely to do in all ways ~ not at all 'marish'.
She is owned by an amateur lady who has a full time professional career and does the horses strickly for fun and when she wants to do them. The horse has been doing very little for the past two years... a prelim here and there; she has very few clicks on the meter that is for sure and thus is very sound of leg and mind. In 2007 the mare was shown by Mike Winter and racked up a 4th, 6th, 3rd and 5th at the intermediate level as well as a very good prelim record. The owner has decided that the horse is wasted on her and knows it should go on to a more ambitious rider. She is very well priced at the moment due to her lack of miles the past two years. I would suspect if she does not sell soon and Leslie takes her to a few shows she will soon be priced more in the $65,000 range.
One would think it could be a very good two star young rider's mount with the ability to potentially go advanced.
Mystere du Val
'Bean' is a 10 year old, selle francais gelding whose record speaks for itself. He was American Event Horse of the Year for 2009 and has too many wins at the advanced and intermediate horse trial levels to mention. He placed in the top 2 at multiple CIC and CCI three stars. It is with much regret that we don't believe he has the extra inch to make it as a four star horse and thus have decided that it is much better for the horse to move on to being some young rider or adult amateur's dream horse. He should pack around the two star level with ease and introduce someone to the advanced level. His dressage record is divine and he is a very scopy jumper. He is 100% injury free. He is a lovely horse to have in the barn and is great to hack out.
