Top Class Young Prelim Horse

Leslie Law News Photo

'Kool Aldo' is a 16.3hh chestnut, 7 year old gelding whom we imported from England a year and a half ago.

He is of the best breeding being by jumper 'Aldatus Z' out of an irish tb mare.  He is top class in looks, movement and jump ability.

He did very well in his novice and trainings and started well into prelim last season; even winning one.

He sustained a minor injury (a sprain) last spring and had four months off however has been back into full work now for five months and is entered in the first event of the year at prelim.

He is fantastic in the dressage ring, wonderful form over showjumps and loves his cross country.  He had hardly any faults at all in his record up until the show he got injured at.

This is a very nice horse and would be a winning young rider's prospect in a year or two, and also go on much further.  With his ability and an acomplished Rider the sky could be the limit for this horse.

Price will increase dramatically upon more showing.

He will be aimed at the one star in Ocala in April with the view of upgrading to intermediate thereafter and a two star in the fall.

Competiton videos of him xc and show jumping are available on this site under 'News' section, just scroll down until you find my news from last spring.

*Update:  At his first show back this winter he was only beaten in dressage by Pan Am horses and two star horses, ran clear xc and had a few rails in show jumping just distracted being back first time in ring.

**At his second show back (RH 1 ~ open prelim) he tied for first after dressage with a 28 and finished second on that score being beaten by one second closer to opt. time xc.

As well here is a video just schooling at home today; flat and jumping:

European Horse Shopping Trip Scheduled

Leslie will be taking clients to England and France in early November to find horses.  Finding your dream horse in Europe is a very exciting and often a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  Leslie looks after much of the travel arrangements and accomodation once you are there and with his numerous contacts in Europe the list of horses applicable to your desires is often compeleted prior to embarking.

Contrary to common belief, one does not always need a fortune to find your dream horse in Europe.  Dependant on what you want, $30-50,000 will often buy the average Event Rider their dream horse with milage already installed and get them home and vetted for that price.

Why go to Europe?  Above all else the benefit of going to Europe for your horse shopping is that in a matter of days Leslie can show you numerous horses that in America would take days and days of spanning the country to see.

Please call Lesley if you are interested in finding out more about our trips.

Fancy Eight Year Old Training Level Project

Leslie Law News Photo

'Victory Emblem' is a very good looking, 16.1hh, dark bay, thoroughbred gelding.  At eight years old he has been brought along slowly into his new career as an event horse.

He has competed in seven novices having won three and placed at three others in the top six.  As well he has completed eight training level events having placed in five of them.  He is just about ready now to move up to prelim.

Recent results include:

  • 4th Training; Ocala Horse Park February 2011
  • 3rd Training; Rocking Horse January 2011

He is a very good moving thoroughbred with a fancy trot with lots of expression and is a very sharp, tidy, athletic jumper.  He is like a cat across the country and is brave as a lion at the fences.

He is forward going in a thoroughbred way although he never does anything naughtly or dangerous.  But because of this we would not consider him appropriate for a true amateur or young child.  He would suit an ambitious teenager or an adult who knows what they are doing.  Although he is never dangerous, he can be hot in a thoroughbred way so requires a somewhat sensitive ride.

He may just be a superstar if produced correctly as he does seem to have a lot of raw talent and he certainly has the right attitude for the cross country.

His price reflects the fact that he still needs producing and that he isn't a 'mugs horse' but for the right person he is probably a steal.

Priced to sell at $15,000

Timber Spirit ~ Lease

Leslie Law News Photo

'Timber Spirit' is Lesley's retired four star horse.  He is a wonderful guy who is still very sound and enjoying the work.  Thus Lesley has decided that she would offfer him up for lease to the right person as she believes he would enjoy eventing still but at a slower pace!  Timmy is a fabulous mover and very safe, honnest jumper.  We would be interested in leasing him for someone to do prelim/ one star with and potentially intermediate dependant on the Rider.  He would be a fabulous opportunity for someone who wishes to have that prelim experience but cannot afford a top horse or does not want to make the long term committment of an expensive horse.  Lease terms would be $1,000 a month, Timmy would have to stay in our care but we would offer a reduced training board rate to the Leasee.  Please contact us for more information.  Lease could start anytime after we returned to Florida September 6th.
